Received my M5 mounts from the stealers today  Smiley Was happy until i saw the invoice! £80 for the pair! and that was with my discount!
On the bright side i know they won't desintegrate like a second hand set probably would, any one got a picture of their mounts so i can compare them as one is cylinder type and the other more boxy, what one goes what side?

Just had a browse and got the answer, looked at ste's build and noticed the boxy mount fits on the o/s of the car, it also means i've got the right mounts, not that i was doubting my man at the dealers.
Just one other thing if ste picks up on this, is that a modded steering U J on your build?

That would be a modded UJ for an e36 rack..

Those are the right mounts.

Im not sure if this applies to the M50 conversion, but you may need to remove the locating tab from the round mount (on the underside that rests on the crossmember) and bolt the mount through the outer hole in the crossmember or the mount wont sit straight and try to tear itself in two.

I'm picking up an E36 power rack this weekend, whats needed to mod the U J? is it necessary? or will all the E30 bits just bolt up?
Thanks for the advice on the mount, as i recall, i had to do something similar when the M50 went in the E21, must remember outer hole!

I bolted my 36 rack through he front holes and used E30 linkage ith he rubber removed. Idealy get the 2 halfs welded and dressed by a pro so it's solid no bolts for mot to get funny about.  Smiley

Doesn't sound like a rip off price, I would think that was a decent price.
