Hi Guys,

just put my m52 in the engine bay, I am looking to mount the drive shaft and have confirmed it is the right length (m52 --> ZF --> 328i driveshaft).

However I am unsure about the reasons for mounting the centre support bearing in reverse.

I would appear by putting in, in reverse it will throw things a little out of alignment.

Can anyone confirm the reasons for mounting this in reverse, as it would appear to be all cool orientated the right way around.

There are alot of people saying mount it in reverse on the net, but my mechanic (whos done more than one conversion himself) looked a bit miffed when I mentioned this.

Has anyone got a good reason for this? otherwise i am going to mount it in the normal direction.

Cheers

By in rever it means compared to the 328i centre bearing.. The e30 centre bearing is just mounted the correct way, if that makes any sense?
